This is one of the early co-sleeping setups we had. It’s funny how fancy and clean it looks. Totally a posed photo. (There is bungee cord underneath connecting the bed to the crib so that there wouldn’t be a gap).
This was after the bassinet next to our bed that I would put Jack down in constantly because I was scared to put him our bed.
.
This didn’t work for us because Jack literally stayed latched all night and I ended up with my body in the crib. One night I heard a crack of one of the boards when I was shifting around. LOL. When I needed to turn over my butt would spill over into the crib. (Thank goodness I never heard a crack when that happened.)
.
Pros- more room for us all to fit in the bed. I didn’t have to pick him up and put him down over and over. I got more sleep. He was near me all night.
.
Cons- Jack didn’t use it on his own because he just stayed latched. I was constantly worried about how much of my body was on it and if I would break it. Jack ended up being in the adult bed anyway.
.
This was before we threw the crib away and put our bed frame in storage. That was when we really hit our stride. That worked well for us. And to this day, almost 8 years and another child later, we still sleep like that. We added a twin mattress next to the queen. We put the frames back a couple of years ago.
