It\u2019s happening. The exposure that women have given to their breastfeeding harassment is climaxing. Women have had enough of being verbally abused, called \u201cdisgusting,\u201d and being kicked out of restaurants, doctors\u2019 offices, court rooms, playrooms, public pools and stores. We are sick of being bullied by businesses, having photos deemed pornographic, being told that we should expect to be abused if we are going to do \u201cthat\u201d in public\/without a cover\/near children\/near husbands\/past infancy\/etc. Breastfeeders all over the world are shedding the cover and coming out of hiding. The fight for breastfeeding rights has taken a front seat in the feminist movement. We are rejecting the idea that we bring harassment on ourselves. We will no longer take the blame for other people\u2019s actions and feelings based on how we choose to feed our children. We are busting the myth that women must follow ludicrous rules regarding our bodies. We hear the message loud and clear that our bodies do not belong to us and that this world is not ours; and we\u2019re pissed. Everyone plays a role in flooding our culture with images, information, awareness and dialogue about breastfeeding.
